Problem Statement of SQL Script:

How to view replication publication information by executing sp_helppublication at the Publisher?

Description of SQL Script:

In SQL Server, replication publication information can be queried for by executing sp_helppublication at the Publisher. Another use for sp_helppublication is the @found OUTPUT parameter which can be used to check for the existence of publications. This can be useful when needing to check for the existence of publications in a script prior to deleting publications and/or subscriptions.

Input Parameter of SQL Script

To run this in your environment, update @publicationName accordingly in the script.

SQL Script Code

DECLARE @found AS INT
DECLARE @publicationName AS SYSNAME

SET @publicationName = 'TestTranPub1'

EXEC sp_helppublication @publication = @publicationName
    ,@found = @found OUTPUT;

SELECT found = @found

User Level to execute

    300
